There are about fifteen hundred languages in the world.

My Teacher in the School of Life
I spent the opening day of school this year at DeMatha Catholic High School in much the same way I spent the first day of classes __1__ 30 years ago; I sat in Dr. Charles E. Offutt's British literature class, listening to him  __2__  what his seniors  would learn and getting them excited about the journey they would __3__, I'm principal(校长) of the school now, but for a few minutes I was back in 1975, __4__ what the future held. I have been learning from Dr. Offutt for 30 of the 51 years he has been teaching at DeMatha. My mother lived in an old farm house in north Oregon，which was located far from any other neighbors.She lived with her elder brother and sisters.Since there were not enough rooms for them，her two sisters   __1__   the bigger bedroom downstairs，her brother in a room down the hall and she slept in the top room of the building.

In a competition where athletes remove their silver medals,feeling they have　18　been cheated out of gold,or when they act so　19　in front of their competitors,it is nice to watch an underdog (失败者),a man that gave his all—knowing that he had no chance,but competed because of his　20　and the spirit of the games.
