Joe wanted a bike. He asked his parents for the money and they had said he must  1 it.

This is no joke. Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt, 20, and Kelly Carl Hildebrandt, 24, are expecting just over 100 guests at a(an)   21  at a church, where they will become husband and wife.

Since I moved to Seattle, there’s no farm whose name has come up more than Quillisascut. Quillisascut is a cheese company,  36  what they call “traditional farmstead cheese’’, but it’s also a school.   37  completing a five-day “Introduction to Farming” workshop at Quillisascut, I understand why this farm school is so  38 . I hope that you can one day visit it, too.
At Quillisascut, mornings begin at 5:30 am with  39  and milking the goats. The morning’s  40  is made into cheese in the afternoon. Cheese making requires many steps. The process can take one day to several months,  41  the type of cheese being made.
During our workshop, we were lucky enough to have the farm’s chefs  42  meals of grains and beans from neighboring farms and herbs from the garden. All of the foods used for cooking are either grown there or  43  sourced.

I wonder how different our food and healthcare systems would look like if all people learnt firsthand about the  51  and tears involved in bringing food to the table.

Before India gained independence (独立), a few young men from the villages wanted to free India from the foreign rule; they wanted the British to quit India. They needed material wealth to  36  the British out of India, so they started collecting  37  in the Indian villages.

Charlie was a rich boy who had more toys than you could imagine. His family had a lot of money, and   1  he liked something, they would buy it for him. First he followed them through the forest, where he saw that she never used the whip, and never   10  the horse. Then they came to the stable, and   11  they arrived the girl fed and watered the horse. Then she carefully groomed (照顾) it. Charlie was surprised. This was the   12  of what Charlie had done to his horse.
Charlie wanted to   13  and become like the girl. As no one had shown him how to do this, he 14   to her and asked her to teach him how to look after his horse. Hidden passengers traveling in ships, trams, or even cars can be a terrible trouble — especially when they are insects. As for this, there is a great    1   between human beings and insects. The    2   take every possible effort to avoid being discovered, while the latter quickly    3   attention to themselves.
We can only show mercy to the    4   man who had to stop his car soon after setting out from a country village to drive to London. Hearing a strange noise from the
   5   of the car, he naturally got out to examine the wheels carefully, but he found nothing wrong, so he    6   his way. Again the noise began,   7   and became even louder. Quickly turning his head, the man saw what appeared to be a great   8      cloud following the car. When he stopped at a village further on, he was told that a queen bee must be hidden in his car as there were thousands of bees    9  .
On learning this, the man drove away as quickly as possible. After an hour's    10  driving, he arrived safely in London, where he parked his car outside a    11   and went in. It was not long before a customer who had seen him arrive    12   in to inform him that his car was    13   with bees. The poor driver was    14   that the best way should be to call a    15  .In a short time the man arrived. He found the unwelcome passenger hidden near the wheels at the back of the car. Very thankful to the driver for this unexpected gift, the bee-keeper took the queen and her thousands of followers home in a large box. 

The “Doorman”
On a trip to California, my family stopped for lunch. As we walked toward the entrance to the restaurant, a man, with a   36  beard and dirty hair, jumped up from a bench and opened the door for us．Regardless of his   37 , he greeted us in a friendly way．
Once inside, my daughters whispered, "Mom, he   38   " After we ordered our lunch, I explained, telling the kids to look   39  the dirt．We then watched other customers approach the restaurant but many   40  him．Seeing this rudeness truly upset me．The day I became a mother, I had decided to set a good   41  for my children．Yet sometimes when things didn't go right, being a good example was   42   When our meal arrived, I realized I had left the car-sick pills in the truck．With the windiest trip ahead, the kids needed them, so I   43  myself from the meal and went to get them．
Just then, the "doorman" was opening the door for a couple．They rushed past him without even acknowledging his   44   . Letting them in first, I said a loud "thank you" to him as I 45 ．
When I returned, we talked a bit．He said he was not allowed inside   46  he purchased food．I went back and told my family his   47 . Then I asked our waitress to add one soup and sandwich．The kids looked   48  as we had already eaten, but when I said the order was for the "doorman" , they smiled．When it was time to   49  our trip, I noticed the "doorman" enjoying his meal．Upon seeing me, he stood up and thanked me heartily．He then   50  his hand for a handshake and I gratefully accepted．I suddenly noticed the tears in his eyes—tears of  51  .  What happened next drew great astonishment: I gave the " doorman" a   52  ! He pulled away, with tears   53  down his face．
Back in truck, I fell into deep thought．While we can't choose many things in life, we can choose when to show gratitude．I said thanks to a man who had   54  held open a door for me, and also said thanks for that   55  to teach my children by example．

I ran into a stranger as he passed by. “I'm so sorry!” was my reply. Then he said, “Excuseme too... I wasn't  36  watching for you.” We were very polite, this stranger and I. Then we went  37  our way after saying goodbye.
But at  38 , a different story is told. How we treat our loved ones, young and old. Later in the kitchen, as I 39 our meal, my daughter walked up to me, very still. When I turned, I  40  knocked her down. “Get out of the way!” I shouted with a frown(皱眉). She stepped away silently, with her little heart 41_ . I didn't realize how harshly(苛刻地) I had spoken.
That night, when I lay   42  in bed, God's quiet voice spoke to me and said, “While  43  with a stranger, you are calm and polite, but with those you love, you are QUICK to excite... By this time, I felt sad and small and now my own tears had begun to fall. I quietly went and knelt by her 47 : “Wake up, my dear,” I said, “Are these the flowers you picked up for me?” She smiled, “I found them out by the tree. I  48 them in a napkin, just for you. I knew you'd like them, especially the  49 .” I said, “I am so sorry that I missed them today... And I  50  have fussed（慌乱）at you that way.”
And she whispered, “Mommy, that's okay... I still love you 51 .” I hugged her and said, “I love you, too and I LOVE the flowers.”
Do you know that: if you die tomorrow, the  52  you are working for could easily replace you in a matter of days. But the family you leave _53  will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into our  54  than into our families--an unwise investment indeed.
