Helen Keller was one of the greatest woman in the 20th century．She was born in America in the June, 1880．When she was nineteen months old, she becomes blind and deaf because a serious illness．From then on she lived in darkness and silence．Her parents were great worried．When she was seven, they found a teacher for her．With Helen's strong will and intelligences, combined with his teacher's skill and patience, they succeeded．Helen Keller graduated from a college and got a degree．Late on she devoted all herself to help the blind and deaf children．She wrote many books but The Story of My Life was a remarkable one．

I think that travelling is a good way to learning about the world．And I like very much．There are many kinds of transport to choose of when travelling．We may neither take a plane, a train, a bus, a car, a bike, a ship or even take a trip on feet．As for me, I prefer to ride a bike．There are a good many advantages of travelling by a bike．I suppose it is not only cheaply, but also help us take exercise．Compare with other forms of transport, riding a bike causes little pollution, and is better for the environment．

　　Our government is trying hardly to build an energy-saving society．It is everyone duty to help reach this goal．

　　However, not everybody have realized the importance of it．For example, sometimes lights and computers are still on after the classes．Some students even forget to turn off the tap after using it and have water running all the time．Usually only one side of our paper is used, caused much waste．

　　It's time we do something to avoid this kind of waste．Remember to turn off the tap immediately after using it．Make sure that all the lights and other electric facility are turned off when we leave the rooms．What's more, paper should be printed and written on both sides．

I am a Senior 1 student, often quarrelled with my mother over that I can watch TV after school．My mother held the view that students in Senior High School are so busy to spare any time to watch TV．It seems to her that once I allowed to do that I will forget all about my study．She also thinks that is bad for my eyes to watch TV too often．But I really can't receive her ideas．I think it is relaxing to watch TV after day's hard work．Not only can it relax my mind, and it can broaden my knowledge．Now we have at last reached an agreement that I can only watch TV at weekends, and the programs should be limited for news and programs of sports and science．

Barbara Herrera has been my best friends since childhood．We are all from Chicago,

but now I live in San Francisco and Barbara lives in Atlanta．We didn't see each other
