Millie’s Day

Hello! I’m Millie. I often get up at 6:30 a.m. Half an hour later (半小时后) I have my breakfast. At 7:30 a.m., I take a bus to school. We have Math, Chinese and English classes from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We have lunch and talk (聊天) with each other (互相) at school. We have three classes from 1:40 to 4:10 in the afternoon. After school, I often play with my classmates. We often play basketball, football and ping-pong. I go home at about 5:00 p.m. I usually have dinner at 6:00 p.m. Then I do my homework and watch TV. At about 9:30, I go to bed.

Dear Jenny,

   I’m sorry you’re sick(病了) and can’t come to school this week. Let me tell you what you have on Monday next week.

  We have math at 8:00. How boring! Then we have English. That’s interesting. I know you love English. Next is P.E. The fourth lesson is art. That’s my favorite subject! In the afternoon, we have history with Mr Chen. He is fun but history isn’t.  Then at 2:00 we have science with Miss Jones. You know how strict she is. I don’t like her. In China, students have seven lessons in the day—four in the morning and three in the afternoon. They start school at 7:30, and the students of grade seven usually have math, Chinese and English. In the UK, children have five lessons in the day and finish school at half past three in the afternoon. After school they go swimming, play football, have music lessons and play with their friends. They also do homework like you!
