  Yesterday, early in the morning, Mr. Hare went to see Mr. Tortoise again. Mr. Tortoise was making something in his house. When he saw Mr. Hare, he said happily, "Well, Mr. Hare. How are you? Do you feel like a race today?"

  "Sure, anytime ! Running is my favorite sport, you know."

  "Good. Can I still use my own way to finish the race?"

  "Of course. Let's run to see Mr. Elephant. He bought some interesting books last week. The first can read the books, and the second should cook lunch today. What do you think?"

  "Good idea! But I still have something to do. You can start running first."

  "What? I run first? Is there something wrong with you? I'm sure to win." Mr. Hare asked in great surprise.

  "Don't worry! Wait and you'll see." Mr. Tortoise said slowly.

  Mr. Hare said no more but started running very fast to Mr. Elephant's house. After a few minutes, he looked back. There was no one behind. He went on running.

  A few seconds later, he looked back again. Why! Mr. Tortoise was catching up quickly. He was not far behind. "How could he be so fast?"  Mr. Hare stopped to have a clear look.

Bruce and Bruno looked worried those days. Their father went to a town far away. Before leaving, he said he would write to them as soon as he found a job there. But two months passed, they did not hear from him. Now they had nothing except the old house and they had no money to buy any food. They thought for a long time.
