Geoffrey Chaucer(杰弗里·乔叟) was an English poet in the 14th century. He was the greatest poet of his time. In his early years, he wrote in Latin(拉丁语) and French like all the other important writers of that age. But later, Chaucer became one of the first poets to write in English. The language was quite different from the English we know today. Chaucer’s most popular and important book was the Canterbury Tales.
