Recently, an Internet game has become a new fashion among young office workers and students. People
can "farm" on a piece of  "land" and "grow", "sell" or even "steal" "vegetables", "flowers" and "fruits" on the Net.
They can earn some e-money and buy more "seeds",  "pets" and even "houses".
Joyce interviewed some young people. Here are their opinions.
Harold: I don't quite understand why they are so crazy about the childish game. Maybe they are just not
confident (自信) enough to face the real world.
Allan: I enjoy putting some "bugs" in my friends' gardens and we've become closer because of the game.
Having fun together is the most exciting thing about it.
Laura: You know, people in the city want to enjoy the life in the countryside. It can reduce my work
pressure (压力); besides, it gives me the exciting experience (经历) of being a "thief".
Ivy: Well, it's just a waste of time. Students playing the game spend so many hours on it that they can't
put their hearts into their study.

Library

There is a public library in every town in the United States. Most of them are tall buildings with so many large bright rooms. Anyone may borrow books. In some places you may borrow as many books as you need, but in others you are limited(限制)to a certain number of books including novels. You may keep the books you have borrowed for several weeks.

The latest novels are always in great demand(要求), and nonfiction(散文文学)books, for example, books on history, driving, science and gardening are also very popular.

If the book you want is out, you may ask for it to be kept for you, and if you pay the cost of sending a postcard, the librarian will let you know when the book has been returned and is ready for you.

Most public libraries also have a reading room and a reference(参考)library. In the reading room there are tables and desks at which you can sit and read the daily newspapers and all the other important periodicals(期刊): weeklies, monthlies and quarterlies. But you should take good care of your eyesight(视力).

In the reference library there are encyclopaedias(百科全书), dictionaries, atlases(地图册)and other useful books. But you can only use these books, you can't take them out.
