Our boat floated on between walls of forest. It was too thick for us to get a view of the land we were passing through, though we knew from the map that our river must be passing through chains of hills from time to time. Chris Jones recently finished a very unusual journey. Our reporter Mary Owen met him at his home in south London and he told her all about the trip.

Reporter: What gave you the idea to travel around India on an elephant, Chris?

Chris: Yes, a few. But nothing serious. On the third day, Tara hurt her foot. But that got better quickly. Also there was a log of heavy rain during the first week and we got very wet!
