My Future
My fellow classmates,
Everyone of us is thinking about the future. What is mine? I have decided become a middle school teacher . Does it sound surprising?
I had his dream when I was only a child. I love children . I don’t think to deal with them all years round is just wasting time . On the contrary , to me it would mean happiness . As we all can see, teachers are badly needed in our country, but not many of us want to become teachers. One of the main reasons for this is that teachers work too hard but get too little . In spite of that, I’m determined to devote all my life to the cause of education.

A Page from My Diary
Saturday, May 26 Windy
Saturday again. How time flies! Another week has gone.
This afternoon, I was often absent-minded in class, for I was thinking of the film “The Sound of Music”, which would be shown at 7 p.m. on the school playground. As soon as class was over, I hurried out of the classroom.
On the way home I saw a little child standing by the roadside crying. Obviously, he had lost his way. Forgetting all about the film, I went up to him and asked him to tell me whatever he knew about his family. It took me nearly an hour to send him home. His parents were very glad to find their lost child back and thanked me again and again.
I missed the film. But I felt happy.

TVs and Radios
TVs are more useful than radios. From TV you can see and hear what is happening in the world. However, radios are not disappearing. They are still with us. And the number of listeners is becoming larger. Do you know why?
One reason for this is the invention of the transistor. A transistor radio can be very small. It is very easy to be carried. Besides, radio broadcasts are better for blind people. Many old people don’t have good eyesight. They can’t watch TV, but can listen to music or news over the radio. What’s more, a radio is cheaper than a TV set.

Air Around Us
Air is around us. We can not see it, smell it, or taste it. But we can feel the wind blow. We can see the wind move waves on the water, clouds in the sky, and tree branches. Wind is moving air.
Without air we could not breathe. There could be no living plants or animals. Because sound travels through air, without air there would be silence. The movement of air can support a large, heavy plane.
Air is a mixture of gases and water vapor. The most important gases in the air are nitrogen and oxygen. 78 percent of the air is made up of nitrogen, and about 21 percent of oxygen. Almost all living things use the oxygen in air. Fire cannot burn without oxygen.

Let Books Be Our Good Friends
Books are our friends because they are bridges to knowledge. Knowledge is valuable because it enriches our life and brings us happiness.
Almost all great men in the history of mankind loved books. We have every reason to believe it is the knowledge in books that led them to success. There is no genius without books. Because books give them knowledge and knowledge gives them power. A man is half blind if he is unable to read.
Books make us able to learn about the past and look forward to the future. They are the most
valuable things in the world. Let books be our good friends all the time.
