12. present　 n.礼物

present指礼物的一般性用语，gift是稍正式的用法。另外，present还可以作为形容词，表示“现在的；出席的”。

这一句型可用so…that…代替，而that后的从句多用否定句。

上面两个句子可换成：

　 George is so young that he can’t go to school.

　 Grandpa is so old that he can’t read by himself.
