As a green city, Singapore has become a famous tourist attraction in the world. Most of the land is covered by green plants. Everyone there realizes the importance of protecting the environment. I visited Singapore in 2007 on my way back from India. It was a wonderful vacation for me.

After we arrived there, we stayed in a hotel on Orchard Road. There were many shops and restaurants on that street. We didn’t do much on the first day because we reached there in the evening. The next day we took a taxi from our hotel to the Botanical Garden(植物园). It has over 3,000 plant species. On the third day we went to Santos Island. Some of the best places to visit over there were Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon, the Merlin Area and Songs of the Sea. The last one was a musical fountain (音乐喷泉) show. It was the best show of this kind. Some other things you must visit in Singapore are Jurong Bird Park and the Singapore Zoo.

The idea of what shaking the head means is not always the same in different countries. Maybe some visitors would be surprised when they first came to India. When they talked to an India, he would often shake his head. The visitors might think that the Indian did not like what they said. But, in fact, they would be completely wrong.

Miss Anne Stott, who lives alone at 18 Station Road, Middletown, awoke at 3 a.m. on Sunday and saw a tall young man standing in her room.
