I don’t know when he left .我不知道他是什么时候离开。

He was about to tell me the secret when someone patted him on the shoulder .

他正要把秘密告诉我，这是突然有人轻轻拍 了一下他的肩膀。

He had just finished the book when supper was served.

他刚要读完那本书正在这时晚饭端上来了。

I was cooking in the kitchen when someone knocked at the door.

4．引导让步状语从句，意思是“尽管”“虽然……可是……”,意思接近于although.例如：

Why do you continue to sleep when you have known that I am trying to talk to you ?既然你知道我和你谈话，为什么还要继续睡觉？

He came to help us when he had plenty of work to do.尽管他有许多事情要做，却还是来帮我们的忙。

He stopped trying when he might have succeeded next time .虽然再试一次可能成功，可是他放弃了努力。

3.引导条件状语从句，意思是“如果”“只要”相当于if或so long as/as long as。例如：

you’ll make more progress when you study hard.

只要你努力学习，就一定能取得更大的进步。

Turn off the switch when anything goes wrong with the machine.

如果机器发生故障，就把电闸关掉。

Come when you are ready .要是你准备好了，就来吧。

When the wind blows all the doors rattle .只要风一吹，所有的门都响了。

2. 引导原因状语从句，意思是“因为”“既然”，相当于since。例如：

why do you want a new job when you’ve got such a good one already ?

既然你已经有了这么好的职业，为 什么还想找一个新的差使？

It’s foolish to take a taxi when you can easily walk to the station.

既然你能够很容易走到车站，乘出租车真是犯傻。

前面第2题就是考察的这种用法，句意为：“既然你没有听，你又怎么希望学东西呢？”所以选D。

1. 引导时间状语从句 ，表示“当……的时候”，相当于at the time that。从句的谓语动词是延续性的，也可以是非延续性的。它引导的时间状语从句常用一般现在时表示一般将来时；用一般过去时表示过去将来时；用现在完成时表示将来完成时。

When water becomes solid, we call it ice .当水变成固体的时候，我们就叫冰。

Don’t be afraid of asking for help when it is needed.

当你需要帮助的时候，不要害怕请求帮助。

前面第1题就是考察的这种用法，句意为：“当他要走时，请提醒我。我好送他。”所以选B。
