题目列表(包括答案和解析)

A man living absolutely alone in a desert or forest is free from other people; but he is not absolutely free. His freedom is limited in several ways. Firstly, by the things around him, such as wild animals or cliffs too steep (陡峭的) to climb. Secondly, by his own needs: he must have sleep, water, food and shelter from extreme heat or cold. Lastly, by his own nature as a man: disease may attack him, and death will certainly come to him sooner or later.

When men live together, on the other hand, protection against wild animals is easier and they can work together to get food and build shelters; but each man has to give up some of his freedom so that he can live happily with the others.

When men become organized into very large groups, and civilization (文明) develops, it is possible to get freedom from hunger, thirst, cold, heat and many diseases, so that each person can live a happier life than he could if he were living alone; but such a society can not work successfully unless the freedom of each human being is to some extent limited so that he is kept from hurting others. I am not free to kill others, nor to steal someone else's property, nor to behave in a way that offends (触犯) against the moral sense of the society in which I live. I have to limit my own freedom myself so that others will not limit it too much: I agree to respect the rights of others, and in return they agree to respect mine.

The advantages of such an agreement are great: one man can become a doctor, knowing that others will grow food, make clothes and build a house for him, in return for the work he does to keep them healthy. If each man had to grow his own food, make his own clothes, build his own house and learn to be his own doctor, he would find it impossible to do any one of these jobs really well. By working together, we make it possible for society to provide us all with food, clothes, shelter and medical care, while leaving each of us with as much freedom as it can.

A man living alone in a desert or forest ______.

A. is completely free      B. feels rather lonely

C. has limited freedom     D. enjoys no freedom

The author suggests that when men live together ______.

A. they will have no freedom and have to help others.

B. they can help each other protect against wild animals.

C. they have to work for their own food and shelters

D. everyone’s happiness is at the expense of other people’s freedom.

According to the passage, to do all his own jobs one would ______.

A. enjoy a complete freedom.

B. find it a happy thing to do everything at his own will

C. find it a very hard job to deal with everything by himself

D. feel quite fantastic and encouraged.

We may infer from the passage that the author ____.

A. is against separation from a civilized society.

B. is in favor of a well-organized society.

C. is against freedom gained at others.

D. denies the existence of many-sided people

Handwriting reveals a great deal about how an individual thinks, since the brain dictate (发号施令) hand movements when a person writes. People who think quickly will write quickly, while people whose thinking is slow will write in the same way. Sometimes we see very elaborate (精致的) handwriting, particularly among public figures, such as actors or politicians, who want to draw attention to themselves. For them, handwriting is like a dress that enables them to stand out from the crowd.
The handwriting of someone who is suited to a routine job will appear well organized, clear, and regular, without any special features drawing attention to it. If the job requires proven accuracy, like that of an accountant(会计), the handwriting, especially the numbers, should be precise. On the other hand, someone in sales or public relations must be self-assured, know how to make a good impression, and be able to befriend people even when meeting them for the first time. The handwriting of such individuals will appear rather large, with elaborate capitals and on oversized signature. It will be quick, fluent, and not necessarily reasonable.
Handwriting analysis can be used to find potential behavioral or personality problems. People who are impulsive, aggressive, or dishonest write differently than those who are socially well adapted. Warning signs include broken and strongly or sporadically (零散的) pressured handwriting; disorderly handwriting in which the words run over the lines on the paper, or extremely sharp handwriting. Generally, handwriting that is extreme in any aspect-too small, too weak or too pressured-is suspect.
Evidence of medical problems also shows up in a person’s handwriting. Individuals in pain often stop in the middle of writing. Pauses will be visible in the handwriting of people who experience difficulty breathing, because they stop writing to take a breath.
Handwriting expresses the mental and physical state of the individual, as well. Depressed people write slowly, with lines sloping (倾斜) down and heavy pressure exerted(施加) on the page. People who are excessively excited will write quickly, and their handwriting will be extremely disorganized and practically unreadable. People who are tired tend to write lines that descend down the page, and their handwriting will appear weak and slow. Healthy and vigorous individual will write energetically, and their handwriting will be quick, rhythmic and fluent.
71. The passage is mainly about _____________.
A. what handwriting indicates
B. handwriting and personalities
C. the relationship between handwriting and the individual
D. handwriting analysis and the problems it shows
72. Suppose you are a famous pop star, your handwriting will be in the style of being_______.

Teaching is more than leadership. Some of the teacher’s time and effort is directed toward instruction, some toward evaluation. But it is the teacher as a group leader who creates an effective organizational structure and good working environment so that instruction and evaluation activities can take place. A group that is totally disorganized, unclear about its goals, or constantly fighting among its members will not be a good learning group. The leadership pattern includes helping to form and maintain a positive learning environment so that instruction and evaluation activities can take place.

? On the first day of class, the teacher faces a room filled with individuals. Perhaps a few closely united groups and friendships already exist. But there is no sense of group unity, no set of rules for conduct in the group, no feeling of belonging. If teachers are successful leaders, they will help students develop a system of relationships that encourages working together.

? Standards and rules must be set to keep order, make sure of justice and protect individual rights, but do not contradict school policy. What happens when one student hurts another’s individual rights? Without clear regulations agreeable to the students and teachers, the classroom can become chaotic. Students may break rules they did not know existed. If standards are set without participation from the class, students may spend a great deal of creative energy in destroying the class environment or finding ways to break rules.

? No matter how skillful the teacher is in uniting students and creating a positive atmosphere, the task is never complete. Regular maintenance is necessary. Conflicts arise. The needs of individual members change. A new kind of learning task requires a new organizational structure. Sometimes outside pressures such as holidays, upcoming tests or sport competitions, or family troubles cause stress in the classroom. One task for the teacher is to recreate a positive environment by helping students deal with conflict, change, and stress.

1.The underlined word “maintain” in Para.1 probably means_______.

A. keep????????????? B.? build????????????? ??? C. recreate????????????? D. evaluate

2.According to the author, the teacher should _______.

A. free students from outside pressures

B. set the standards and rules on his own

C. be responsible for a well-organized class

D. focus more on instruction and evaluation

3.From the passage we can learn that ______.

A. rules cannot be changed once they’re formed

B. outside pressures can not cause tension among students

C. if the teacher well unites his students, he then will finish his task

D. if rules are not acceptable both to students and teachers, the classroom can be a mess

4.What is the author’s main purpose of writing the passage?

A. To provide information for teaching.

B. To show the importance of teaching a class.

C. To study the teacher’s behavior in the classroom.

D. To compare the teacher’s behavior with the students’ in class.
