    Jane from New Zealand The hotel and the whale and dolphin watching companies hire local people. They used to hunt those whales and dolphins, but now they can earn money from tourism and mustn’t kill whales and dolphins. Not many boats are used at the same time so these animals aren't disturbed. The boat companies also work to educate the local schools about the importance of protecting these wonderful animals.
    Helen from England I am glad they are not killing the whales and dolphins any more, but the cars and boats use fuel(燃料) which could cause pollution and make the sea dirtier.

    Our earth is in trouble. Our drinking water is becoming dirtier, and the air is not as clear as before. People and factories are polluting the air, rivers, lakes and seas. You might think there is nothing you can do to help. That’s not true. There are many things you can do to help the earth.

    Cars burn gasoline. This will produce a lot of CO into the air. Some people believe that CO is making the earth warmer. They think CO thins the clouds above us. The clouds keep us away from the strongest sunlight. So try to walk, ride a bicycle or take a bus. And if you drive a car, drive at a steady speed. This can save some gasoline.

    The biggest energy use at home is for keeping warm or coo1.So turn the air conditioner off when you don’t need to use it. Use lights that save energy.

    A lot of water is needed for a shower. In one week an American family uses as much water for showers as a person drinks in three years! Buy a waterworks that uses less water, or take shorter showers. This can cut the use of water.
