JSC Boggs is an artist who makes money. To be exact,he draws money. In the United States he draws dollars,in Britain pounds and in France francs. Each are almost perfect reproductions, apart from the fact that he writes "Bank of Boggs" or another humorous message on them.
When Boggs goes shopping or for a meal,he offers "Boggs dollars" in the payment for what he wants. He also offers real money. It is up to the people selling the goods to take whichever they prefer.
When a shopkeeper or a restaurant owner takes a "Boggs dollar",he or she gives a receipt in return for the things bought.Boggs then sells the receipt at face value to art collectors. This is how he makes actual money for the times when people will not accept his drawings.
The collector uses the receipt to find the person holding the actual "Boggs dollar" and the two talk over what they think would be a fair price. This gives the shop or restaurant owner the chance to make another profit on the goods he or she sold to Boggs. It means Boggs actually gets paid for buying things. And it means that the collector has a unique work of art---each "Boggs dollar" is separately drawn.
Artists like to make us think. What Boggs wants us to think about is the nature of value and money. What is money really worth? Is value of money the same as personal value? Once "Boggs dollars " have been given away by the artist, they often continuew to circulate and grow on value A "Boggs one dollar bill" may have bought the artist a cup of coffee in New York. Now it may be worth a car or an expensive meal.It all depends on that value a person chooses to give it.

Have you ever wondered why birds sing? 1 After all, you probably sing or whistle when you are happy.
Some scientists believe that birds do sing some of the time just because they are happy.
2 Their singing is actually a warning to other birds to stay out of their territory. Do you know what a "territory" is? A territory is an area that an animal, usually the male, claims(声称) as its won. Only he and his family are welcome there. No other families of the same species are welcome. Your yard and house are your territory where only your family and friends are welcome. If a stranger should enter your territory and threaten you, you might shout. 3 If so, you have actually scared the stranger away without having to fight him. 4 But he expects an outsider almost all the time, especially at nesting(筑巢) season. So he is screaming all the time, whether he can see an outsider or not. This screaming is what we call a bird' s song, and it is usually enough to keep an outsider away.
Birds sing loudest in the spring when they are trying to attract a mate and warn others not to enter the territory of theirs.
5 Most of it has to do with attracting males and setting up territories.
A. A bird does the same thing.
B. Maybe you thought that they were just happy.
C. Shouting loudly is just like a bird's screaming.
D. You can see that birds have a language all their own.
E. Probably this would be enough to frighten him away.
F. However they sing most of the time for a very different reason.
G. So, just like human beings, birds sing for almost the same reasons.

1 Men lie; women lie.Husbands lie, friends lie, wives lie, and believe it or not, your mother might lie.A recent study showed that 91% of all people lie on a regular basis, and people tell at least 13 major lies a week.
Dr.Robert G.Newby, a professor of sociology , believes that men are more likely to tell lies than women."Men are more concerned about how they present themselves in public, the impression they make on people and things like that," he says."And they want to make sure that their presentation of self is one that makes them look good. 2 ”
Women, on the other hand, Dr.Newby believes, are more private people and their relationship tends to be more interpersonal, as opposed to having to put on a public face.Women are more easily hurt and they are not as likely to try to cheat like men.
Psychotherapist Vesta Callender also agrees that men and women do lie differently." 3 They plan better," Callender notes. "They create a history around the lie, and they try to project into the future what might happen if the lie is detected. With a woman, a lie has a beginning, a middle and an end. " Callender believes that men tend to lie for the moment or to get out of a situation. 4
Dr Elmore stresses that while it is true that most people lie from time to time, one should be truthful.
" 5 Everything that is true does not need to be said, but everything said needs to be true," he says.
A.Be truthful at any cost.
B.Men also lie to each other.
C.Everyone lies from time to time.
D.Women are much more careful in their lies.

G. Men are more likely to step outside of their relationships than women.
