When my father was dying, I traveled a thousand miles from home to be with him.It was far more heartbreaking than I'd expected, and was really one of the most difficult and painful times in my life. After he passed away I stayed alone in his apartment. There were so many things to deal with.Weeks passed; it all seemed absolutely endless.I was completely lonely.I hated the silence of the apartment.

But one evening the silence was broken:I heard crying outside.I opened the door to find a little gray kitten(小猫)on the steps. He was thin and poor.I remember thinking that he looked the way I felt.I brought him inside and gave him a can of fish.He ate it, and almost immediately fell asleep right there on the kitchen floor.

The next morning I checked with the neighbors and learned that the kitten had been abandoned by someone who had just moved out.As I walked back I tried to figure out what to do with him.Having something else to take care of seemed like the very last thing I needed. But as soon as I opended the apartment door he came running and jumped into my arms.It was clear from that moment that he had no intention of going anywhere.I decided to keep him-just until I went back home.I started calling him Willis, in honor of my father's best friend.

From then on, things grew easier. No longer was I returning to a lonely, empty apartment. With Willis in my lap the time seemed to pass much more quickly. When the day finally came for me to return home, I had to decide what to do about Willis. There was absolutely no may I would leave without him.

It's now been five years since my father died.Over the years, several people have commended on how nice it was of me to rescue Willis. But I know that we rescued each other.I may have given him a home, but he gave me something greater-the will to live, and an important lesson.

Here it becomes very important to keep our head on our shoulder. The only way to show our gratitude to God for bestowing success on us is by being humble, modest, courteous and respectful to the less fortunate ones.
Hope and Despair
Hope is what keeps life going. Parents always hope their children will do well.Hope makes us dream. Hope builds in patience. Life teaches us not to despair even in the darkest hour, because after every night there is a day. Nothing remains the same we have only one choice keep moving on in life and be hopeful.

There is a new type of small advertisement becoming increasingly common in newspaper classified columns. It is sometimes placed among “situations vacant”, although it does not offer anyone a job, and sometimes it appears among “situations wanted”, although it is not placed by someone looking for a job, either. What it does is to offer help in applying for a job.

“Contact us before writing your application”, or “Make use of our long experience in preparing your curriculum vitae or job history”, is how it is usually expressed. The growth and apparent success of such a specialized service is, of course, a reflection on the current high levels of unemployment. It is also an indication of the growing importance of the CV, with the suggestion that it may now qualify as an art form in its own right.

There was a time when job seekers simply wrote letters of application.“Just put down your name, address, age and whether you have passed any exams”, was about the average level of advice offered to young people applying for their first jobs when I left school. The letter was really just for openers, it was explained, everything else could and should be saved for the interview. And in those days of full employment the technique worked. The letter proved that you could write and were available for work.Your eager face and intelligent replies did the rest.

There is no doubt, however, that it is increasing number of applicants with university education at all points in the process of engaging staff that has led to the greater importance of the CV.
