Mr. Winter wouldn't trust (信任) a woman to driver a car. He was very surprised when he learned one day that his wife was interested in learning to drive. He had the big and bright and powerful-looking car for two years, but there wasn't a single mark on the light blue paint.

When they got back to the house and Mr. Winter had the car outside the garage (车库), he asked his wife to put the car in the garage and he told her that all she had to do was simply to drive straight forward. There was a terrible noise as the car struck (撞击) the side of the garage door. There was a long mark on one side of the car. The next day, Mr. Winter had it painted and it looked like new again.
