Buster Brown was a thief and a good one too,he thought. He’d never been caught by the police because he never took chances. He was always prepared for any unforeseen event or emergency.
Confidently,he stood outside the house of his intended victim(受害者)and read the sign on the front gate of the house.“Don't worry about the dog—be aware of the owner!” it said.Buster smiled and found his way in.
The house looked quite normal outside, but inside it was very exotic with fascinating objects on display. As he began putting them into his bag,a dog came into the room.It stopped when it saw Buster, then wagged its tail madly and went over to him, licking his outstretched hand.  "Good boy,” Buster whispered. “What a great guard dog you are—trying to lick me to death.” Satisfied he'd made friends with the dog,Bluster began to wander round the house, choosing items to put in his bag.His skilled eye picked out only the best antiques(古董):a pair of silver candleholders,a silver tea-and-coffee service,etc..His new friend, the dog,sat and watched,as if wondering what was happening.
“Well, boy,” Buster whispered, finally.“That might do.Any more and I won't be able to carry it!” He swung the heavy bag onto his shoulders, just as the lights came on, nearly blinding him. He shielded his eyes with his hand.
"You're a very silly person," the figure in the doorway said, his voice dry and dust. As the man came closer, Buster could see he was well dressed. His face seemed familiar, but Buster couldn't quite place where he had seen him before.
"You should have taken more notice of the sign outside," the man rasped. "I knew about this attempted robbery last week and I also know you will end up behind bars for 20 years. Fancy trying to rob the house of the world's greatest fortune-teller!"

He has vowed that he will not stop building his business until it is worth £100 million. But hard-working Owens can stop for at least a moment's celebration after making his first £1 million at the age of 16. Owens, who has used a computer since the age of seven, began teaching himself basic web design at the age of ten when he was given his first Mac computer. He used his pocket money to fund his first business project, website Mac Box Bundle at just 14 which has made £700,000 since its establishment in 2008. Mac Box Bundle sells a combination of popular Mac applications which are worth up to $400 together for under just $100 and donates 10 percent of the money to charities.

There is no magical formula(法则) for business, It takes hard work, determination and the drive to do something great. My aim is to become a leading name in the world of Internet and mobile advertising and push myself right to the top of the game.

Once while being prepared for a television interview, I was chatting with the host about stay-at-home fathers.I made the point that one reason why we’re seeing more stay-at-home dads may be that many families now take earning power into account when deciding which parent will stay home.

At that point, one of the male crew members commented, “It should be the better parent who stays home.” A lot of guys say things like that.I was a stay-at-home father for eight years, so his declaration made me exited. It implied that our family’s choice could only have been correct if I was a “better” parent than my wife.

I suppose an argument could have been made that when I began staying home my wife was the “better” parent:She spent more time with Ray, could read him better and calm him more quickly. And given a choice, he’d have picked her over me.But as she was the more employable one, my wife went out to work and I looked after our son.

Because of the increased time I spent with him, I soon knew Ray well, and could look after him more or less as well as my wife.Actually, the experience helped me unlock one of the world’s great secrets:Women are good at looking after children because they do it.It’s not because of any innate(先天的)female gift or a mother’s instinct. It’s because they put in the time and attention required to become good at the job.

Women obviously get a biological head start from giving birth and nursing, but over the long term experience is more important. When I got the experience myself, I was good, too.As good?I don’t know.Who cares?
