I walked into the grocery store, not really wanting to buy anything. I just wanted to stay there quietly ¡ª the pain of losing my ¡¡11 was still too great. And this supermarket held so many sweet ¡¡12 . He often came with me, and always bought me yellow roses.
Standing ¡¡13 the meat, I searched for the perfect small steak ¡¡14 my husband used to love it. ¡¡15 a woman came up beside me. I watched as she picked up a large pack of T-bone steaks, dropped them in her basket, ¡¡16 , and then put them back. She turned to go and once again ¡¡17 for the pack of steaks. She saw me ¡¡18 her and she smiled. ¡°My husband loves T-bone steaks, but they are so expensive.¡±
¡°My husband ¡¡19 away eight days ago,¡± I told her, and ¡¡20 to control the sadness in my voice, ¡°Buy him the T-bone steaks. And ¡¡21 every moment you have together.¡±
22 by my words, she placed the steaks in her basket and walked away ¡¡23 . But several minutes later she came towards me again, ¡¡24 a package in her arms. She was ¡¡25 the brightest smile I had ever seen.
As she ¡¡26 , I saw what she held. ¡°These are for you,¡± she placed three beautiful yellow roses in my hands. I wanted to tell her what the roses ¡¡27 for me, but, unable to speak, only watching her walking away.
Looking down at the roses, I wondered ¡¡28 she knew it. Suddenly the answer seemed so ¡¡29 . I wasn¡¯t alone. There were ¡¡30 many people caring for me and willing to help me. Just be thankful for what you have and who you are.

Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida a little boy decided to go for a swim in the lake behind his house.
He flew into the water, not ¡¡36 that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator (¶ÌÎÇöù) was swimming toward the shore. His mother in the ¡¡37 was looking out of the window and saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In great ¡¡38 , she ran toward the water, ¡¡39 to her son as loudly as she could. ¡¡40 her voice, the little boy became
41 and made a U-turn to swim to his mother. It was too ¡¡42 . Just as he got to her, the alligator ¡¡43 him.
From the dock, the mother caught her little boy by the ¡¡44 just as the alligator caught his legs. That began an incredible war between the two. The alligator was much ¡¡45 than the mother, but the mother was much too ¡¡46 to let go. A farmer happened to ¡¡47 by, heard her screams, raced from his truck, took aim and ¡¡48 the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy ¡¡49 . His legs were terribly scared by the ¡¡50 of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches(×¥ºÛ) where his mother¡¯s ¡¡51 dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved.
The newspaper reporter, who ¡¡52 the boy, asked if he would ¡¡53 his scars(ÉË°Ì) to him. The little boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious ¡¡54 , he said to the reporter, ¡°but look at my arms. I have great ¡¡55 on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn¡¯t let go.¡±

Coming home from school that dark winter day so long ago, I was filled with excitement of having the weekend off. But I was ¡¡1 into stillness by what I saw. Mother was seated at the far end of the sofa, ¡¡2 , with the second-hand green typewriter on the table. She told me that she couldn¡¯t type fast and then she was out of work. My shock and embarrassment at finding mother in tears was a perfect proof of how ¡¡3 I understood the pressures on her. Sitting beside her on the sofa, I began very ¡¡4 to understand. ¡°I guess we all have to ¡¡5 sometimes,¡± Mother said quietly. I could ¡¡6 her pain and the tension (½ôÕÅ) of ¡¡7 the strong feelings that were interrupted by my arrival. Suddenly, something inside me ¡¡8 . I reached out and put my arms around her. She broke then. She put her face ¡¡9 my shoulder and sobbed (à¨Æü). I held her ¡¡10 and didn¡¯t try to talk. I knew I was doing what I should, what I could ¡¡11 it was enough.
