In recent years many countries of the world have been faced with the problem of how to make their workers more productive. Some experts say the ___36___ is to make jobs more varied(多样的). But do more varied jobs ___37___ greater productivity? There is evidence to suggest that ___38___variety certainly makes the worker’s life more enjoyable, it doesn’t __39___ make him work harder. As far as increasing productivity is concerned, then, ___40___ is not an important factor.
Other experts feel that giving the worker___41___ to do his job in his own way is important, and there is no doubt that this is true. The ___42___ is that this kind of freedom can’t easily be given in the modern factory with its complicated(复杂的) machinery which must be used in a ___43___ way. Thus while freedom of choice may be important, there is usually very little that can be done to ___44___ it.
Another important ___45___ is how much each worker ___46___ to the product he is making. In most factories the worker ___47___only one small part of the product. Some car factories are now ___48___ with having many small production lines rather than one large one, so that each worker contributes more to the production of the cars on his___49___. It would seem that not only is degree of worker contribution an important factor ___50___ it is one we can do something about.
To what___51___ does more money lead to greater productivity? The workers themselves certainly think this is ___52___. But perhaps they want more money only because the work they do is so boring. ___53___ just lets them enjoy their spare time more. A ___54___ argument may explain demands for shorter working hours. Perhaps if we ___55___ making their jobs more interesting, they will neither want more money, nor will shorter working hours be so important to them.

[1]It seems parents have long been right. Going to bed early is key to getting enough sleep and helping adolescents feel on top of the world, a new study reported.
[2]A lack of sleep among youngsters may trigger depression and suicidal thoughts, according to the study by the Columbia University Medical Center.
[3]"Our results are consistent with the theory that inadequate sleep is a risk factor for depression, working with other risk and protective factors through multiple possible causal ways to the development of this mood disorder," said lead author James Gangwisch.
[4]"Adequate quality sleep could therefore be a preventative measure against depression and a treatment for depression," he added in the study published in the Friday issue of Sleep magazine.
[5]The study followed the nightly habits of some 15,659 college and high-school students, and found those who consistently turned in after midnight had a 24 percent higher risk of depression than those who before 10:00 pm. Night owls also ran a 20 percent higher risk of battling suicidal thoughts, the study added.
[6]The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends that adolescents should sleep at least nine hours or more a night. Those who were tucked in before 10:00 pm reported they slept on average about eight hours and 10 minutes. But that amount of sleep dropped significantly for those in bed after midnight.
[7]And adolescents who slept five hours or less a night were 71 percent more likely to suffer depression and 48 percent more at risk of becoming suicidal, the study said.
[8]"It is a common perception and societal expectation that adolescents do not need as much sleep as pre-adolescents. Yet studies suggest that adolescents may actually require more sleep." said Gangwisch.
[9]"Studies have found that adolescents do not go to bed early enough to make up for earlier school start time. And transitions to earlier school start times have been shown to be associated with significant sleep deprivation."

[1]All people have dreams and they obey the rule that if you can dream it, you can achieve it! Here are four goals for people to reach a perfect life in their future.
[2]The first goal common to all of us in health and energy. We all want to be healthy and fit, to have high levels of energy and to live free of pain and illness. Today, with the incredible advances in medical science, the quality of our health and fitness, and our lifespan, is largely determined by design, not by chance. People with excellent health habits are far healthier, have more energy, and live longer and better than people who have poor health habits. Remember that health is not everything, but without health everything is nothing!
[3]The second goal that we all have in common is to enjoy excellent relationships – intimate, personal or social – with the people we like and respect, and who is turn. Fully 85% of your happiness will be determined by the quality of your relationships at each stage, and in each area, of your life. How well you get along with people, and how much they , have more impact on the quality of your life than perhaps any other factor.
The third common goal is to do work that we enjoy, to do it well, and to be well paid for it. You want to be able to get and keep the job you want, to get paid more and promoted (晋升) faster. You want to earn the very most that is possible for you at each stage of your career, whatever you do.
The fourth goal we all have in common is to achieve financial independence. You want to reach the point in life where you have enough money so that you never have any financial worries. You want to be completely free of them. You want to be able to order dinner in a restaurant without referring to the price listing to determine what you want to eat.
