Yesterday, after telling my brother, Rhys, and me to stop playing like wild animals, Mom went to take a bath. We were having a pillow fight when ¡¡36 one hit a vase. Mom ¡¡37 the loud crash. Wasting no time, she came ¡¡38 into the room. I was sure that she was going to shout at us, but instead she just knelt by the 39 and began to cry.
¡¡ This made Rhys and me feel pretty ¡¡40 . We went over and put our arms around her, and she explained to us why she was so upset. In the pieces ¡¡41 a broken glass rose, one petal (»¨°ê)gone, which was given by Dad on their first wedding anniversary. Dad had said that if he ever forgot to bring flowers home ¡¡42 an anniversary in the future, Mom was to look at that one. It was like their love¡ªit would last a ¡¡43 .
¡¡ We began crying, and ¡¡44 to glue it. But Mom said that wouldn¡¯t really fix it. ¡¡45 it had been broken, the ¡¡46 of the ¡°limited edition¡± had reduced. As Mom ¡¡47 began to pick up the mess, we tried everything we could think of to¡¡ 48 her up, but even our best funny faces didn¡¯t ¡¡49 . Tears kept coming down her cheeks. Everything was picked up. Seeing Mom going back to the bath, I ¡¡50 her and put both hands on her shoulders, saying, ¡°All things can be ¡¡51 £¬Mom. The only thing that cannot be broken is our ¡¡52 . It¡¯s the only thing that can never be broken. ¡±
¡¡ Mom hugged me very tightly and ¡¡53 smiled. After dinner that night, Mom glued the petal back onto the rose. Then she softly said, ¡°My rose is truly unique. Its tiny damage reminds me of ¡¡54 more important£ºthe realization that love ¡¡55¡¡ forever. ¡±

Last year, my mom found out that she had stomach cancer. I thought she¡¯d be fine after she got ¡¡36 as she was diagnosed(Õï¶Ï)early. She had an operation to 37 a third of her stomach to stop the cancer from spreading. And for two months she went back and forth to the ¡¡38 . I visited her in the summer holiday. She seemed better, so I forgot that there was a possibility of cancer ¡¡43 .

¡¡ ¡°What¡¯s wrong? How come Mom¡¯s not calling me today?¡± I asked. After a few seconds, he said my mom¡¯s cancer had returned and spread throughout her ¡¡47 . Her survival rate was less than 30%.
¡¡ After I put down the phone, I ¡¡48 . Tears kept coming out. I didn¡¯t want to ¡¡49 it. I couldn¡¯t accept the ¡¡50 that my mom might not have much time left. I cried and cried and at last, I stopped crying. I thought I should stop acting like a ¡¡51 and pull myself together.
¡¡ Looking back to when my mom first got cancer, I ¡¡52 how stupid I was for not appreciating her. I feel bad that I didn¡¯t visit her in the hospital. I should have cared. When we are unfamiliar with something, we may feel nervous and fearful. The help of others is a good ¡¡ 31¡¡ to help us pull through.
I write for a big newspaper, and I wanted to ¡¡ 32¡¡ a story about parachute jumping£¨ÌøÉ¡£©. To make it a realistic as well as exciting ¡¡ 33¡¡ , I decided that I had to make a jump myself ¡¡ 34¡¡ . Unluckily, I¡¯m not good at any ¡¡ 35¡¡ , let alone£¨¸ü²»ÓÃ˵£©parachute jumping.
My friend Mr. Smith was willing to give me a ¡¡ 36¡¡ . He took me to a ground school. The first day¡¯s ¡¡ 37¡¡ included several hours of instruction but not my first drop from a(n) ¡¡38 . For this, I had to wait until the following ¡¡ 39¡¡ .
The next morning, I was taken to the airfield. ¡¡ 40¡¡ , a heavy parachute was put on my back. Then I was ¡¡ 41¡¡ to make my way to a small plane which had just stopped slowly on the runway. Once on board, the plane was soon ¡¡ 42¡¡ . I began to feel nervous. As we reached one thousand meters, Harry, my teacher, hooked£¨¹³£©a ¡¡ 43¡¡ from my parachute to a steel ring inside the plane. The line was to pull my parachute ¡¡ 44 after I jumped.
¡°Get ¡¡ 45¡¡ , Henry,¡± Harry said. I moved carefully to the door. I wanted to ¡¡ 46¡¡ , ¡°NO, no, no!¡± But no word came.
¡°Jump!¡± Harry called ¡¡ 47¡¡ . ¡°Jump!¡±
Away from the plane, and down, down I fell, arms stretched. It worked. All at once I was very happy. Then I felt a quick ¡¡ 48¡¡ . My big parachute had opened! It was the best ¡¡ 49¡¡ I ever had. I looked down. There were rivers, trees, fields and houses. I heard the soft sound of the air. This was ¡¡ 50¡¡ .

A strong wind was blowing hard, thunder was rumbling (À×Éù¡¡µØÏì), and lightning flashed across the dark sky. Rain was¡¡ 36¡¡ down; it looked as if heaven had been broken open. Gleams(ÉÁ¹â) of light appeared from windows of faraway houses, ¡¡37 like jewels in all the dark.
