阅读理解

阅读下列短文,从题中所给的四个选项(A,B,C和D)中,选出最佳选项。

Fifteen minutes to kick - off. The streets around the stadium are empty for policemen standing on corners, watching for trouble. The fans are all inside. A police helicopter passes low overhead.

My friend is a Wolveshampton Wanderers fan. I support the home team, Brighton. It is my local team. But there is no neutral place to standwe must watch the match among my people or his. “Let's go in with the Wolves,” I say, conceding he is my guest, “Thanks,” he says. “I appreciate it.”

By standing together, though, we are breaking the rules. All the entrances to the stadium are marked either “Home Supporters Only” or “Away Supporters Only”. Each entrance is guarded by a small group of policemen. We walk along the side of the stadium, looking for a viable turnstile. The police question us as we walk past. “You're Wolves, are you?” they say. “Right. Along there,” I nod, having to lie.

Now we are inside the Wolveshampton enclosure, penned into a section of the stadium by thick wire fences.

It is impossible for me to show any sign that I support my own team. In fact, to pass muster (过得去) I must demonstrate the opposite. When a cheer starts, I must join in, punching the air. When a refereeing decision, even a fair one, goes against Wolveshampton, I must appear angry.

Halfway through the second half, Wolves take the lead. A good move wrongfoots the defence, leaving Andy Mutch with an open shot at goal. He scores. My heart sinks; my team are down. The men I am jammed against leap into the air, screaming as loudly as they can, punching the air, turning and pushing each other. I must follow them. I scream and shout. Someone has his arm around me; someone else is shaking his fist in my faces. his mouth half open, crying.

1.The underlined part “neutral place” in the second paragraph most probably means ________.

[ ]

A.against either side
B.against both sides
C.supporting neither side
D.supporting either side

2.According to the article, we can see clearly that the writer ________.

[ ]

A.enters the “Away Supporters Only” section against his will

B.really feels excited for the victory of the guest team

C.is eager to shout with “away supporter”

D.seems to hate the police and Wolveshampton

3.Andy Mutch must be ________.

[ ]

A.a defense on Brighton
B.a player on Wolves
C.a player on home team
D.a Brighton who scores

4.The game the writer goes to watch is ________.

[ ]

A.basketball
B.volleyball
C.football
D.handball
