During my second year of nursing school, our teacher gave us a quiz (小测验). I was a hardworking student and I did well    26   all the subjects. I finished the questions successfully until I read the last one, “What is the first name of the    27  who cleans the school?”
I saw the cleaning woman every day. She is short and about 60 years old. She has dark hair. But    28   would I know her name? I have    29  talked with her before. In fact, I’ve never even thought about talking to her! I stared at (盯着) my paper and started to feel rather guilty (惭愧的). Finally, I handed in my paper   30   writing the answer to the last question.
Before the class ended, one student    31   the teacher if the last question would count (计入) into our grade. “In your life,” the teacher said, “you will meet many people. All are    32 . They deserve (值得) your attention (注意) and care, even if all you do is just smiling and saying hello.”
I’ll never    33   that lesson. Everyone deserves our attention and we should try to get to know all the people who work and live around us. That was the most important    34 of my life. Later that day, I    35  that the cleaning woman’s name was Dorothy.

Monday morning is an important time at our school. All of the students go to the playground. We listen to music, and we   16  the national flag go up.
　  Usually, one student gives a talk on Monday mornings. One Monday last year, a boy gave the talk. He was   17  and excited! When I saw him, I wanted to have a try, too.
　  Can I really do it?
　  Last week, our teacher said our class should give the talk. My teacher   18  me, “I know you want to have a try. Next Monday, you can give the talk. Go and write something down.   19  for it, I’m sure you’ll do well.”
“Thank you,” I answered. It was such a great   20  for me! When I got home, I was excited. I wrote two pages for the talk. I read them again and again. When I read, I asked my parents  21 . I wanted to make my teacher happy.

She said, “Hi, my name is Susan, I’m seventy years old.” While we were  17 what made her take this challenge (挑战) at her age, she said with a smile, “I'm here to meet a rich husband, get  18 , have two children and travel together.” Hearing this, all of us laughed. “In fact,” she went on, “I always    19 of having a college education, and now I’m getting  20 !”

After class we had chocolate and milk together. We became good  21 . I often listened to this “time machine” as she shared her study with me.

At the end of the term we invited Susan to give us a  22 . When she was stepped up to the front, suddenly she found she took the wrong paper. She felt a little frustrated（沮丧的） and said, “I'm sorry. I’m so nervous that I can’t get my ready talk    23 , so I have to tell you  24 I know .”

In her speech she told us, “We don’t stop playing as we are old, we grow old because we stop playing. The secret of staying  25 , being happy and getting success is that we should laugh and find something  26 every day. I think there is a great  27 between growing old and growing up. I am seventy now. If I  28 in bed for one full year and never do anything. I’ll become seventy – one. Since anybody can grow older, my idea is to grow up by always finding the chance in change. Growing older can’t be avoided(避免的), growing up can be  29 . It’s never too late to be all you can be possible.”

During the four years’ study, it was so easy for Susan to make friends  30 she went. In the end, the wonderful woman got a college degree.
