I’m writing to tell you about the different attitudes towards the newly decision announced.

In June, 2009, the Education Department of Jiangsu Province made a decision that giving lessons during the summer vacation and weekends should be banned in middle and primary schools.

Many people support this decision. They think the measures based on it will ensure the students in middle and primary schools sleeping hours so that they can be energetic enough to study effectively / efficiently during weekdays. Meanwhile, they have more chances for self-development. In addition, they can participate in community work, strengthening their awareness of public service.

However, some are against it. They complain the students lack self-control to arrange their free time properly. They believe less class time may result in low grades, since the present examination system hasn’t been changed and it’s difficult for them to cope with such fierce competition without extra lessons.

Personally, the decision is quite good. Before the decision was issued, in order to get good marks in the entrance examinations, most of our weekends or holidays were taken up with extra lessons, which happened in almost all high schools. We students suffered both physically and mentally. Anyhow, we badly need a balance between study and relaxation.

5.　 From the picture we can see, the Department of Education has carried out a new policy, that is, the examination results aren’t released, ranked, or publicized. Seemingly, the pressure on students has been reduced a lot. However, students are still heavily burdened with their studies. As is described in the picture, the poor student is carrying a heavy schoolbag, preparing for the college entrance examinations.

At present, stress-reducing has been emphasized but the pressures from families, schools and society are getting more severe. What’s worse, the overloaded pressure would seriously damage students’ nature, affecting their physical and mental health.

As for how to reduce the stress of study, in my opinion, there is still a long way to go. Above all, it is necessary to raise the people’s awareness of it. Besides, communication between schools and families needs to be further strengthened. The whole society must abide by the policy of the new rules, making their efforts to reduce pressure on students. Only in this way can students develop physically and mentally and serve the people and society better in the future.

4. Nowadays, QQ Farm and Happy Farm are very popular among people from all walks of

life. A large number of middle school students are also involved in the game.

　 Some of them are addicted to it and take great delight in stealing vegetables online. In class,

their minds are still wandering around the farm. They waste too much time on it so that they fail

to hand in their homework in time and there is a sharp decline in their grades.

　 Many factors contribute to the popularity of the game. To begin with, it enables students to

experience the pleasure of farming , which is beyond their reach in reality. In addition, students

are under great pressure and farming online is a good way for them to relax. It can also bring

friends closer and closer.

　 As far as I am concerned, though the game is really great fun, as senior students, we are

supposed to focus on our studies. Also, I suggest schools starting after-school farming activities.

Only in this way can students experience real happiness in farming.

3. It’s deep into the night, but many young people are still in high spirits in front of computers. Are they busy working? The answer is: no. They are "stealing vegetables" at the "happy farm" through the Internet.

　　 Nowadays, the computer games about stealing vegetables have become popular among millions of white collars, even students. Many people get addicted to the games and spend a lot of time and energy on it, as we can see from the picture. We have to admit that the game can bring us some pleasure and we can make friends in this way. However, it has also resulted in many social problems. Taking up a lot of time, it affects our work and study. Meanwhile, it poses a threat to our mental health.

　　　 In my opinion, we shouldn't choose to escape from reality. Instead, we should be aware of the situation and manage our time properly. Certainly we have something more meaningful to do in a real world than in a virtual world.

2. 关于节约用水

As we can see from the picture, a man is brushing his teeth with the tap water running. To make matters worse, the man is not alone; many people are wasting water in one way or another, thinking nothing of the result.

　　 It is known that water is essential to all living things. If there is not enough water, a person may be sick and plants may wither or even die due to the lack of water. However, the world we live in is now faced with a severe shortage of fresh water, some not having enough clean water and some even dying of water-related diseases every day. Therefore, it is of great importance to call on everyone to conserve water.

　　　 In my opinion, education should be offered to all the citizens to raise their awareness of water conservation. Besides, it is also a good idea to recycle as much water as possible.

　　 I am proud to say Expo 2010 Shanghai China is evidence that our country is developing fast and becoming more powerful. China will surely have a bright future and become an advanced country.
