3.第2自然段的层次划分有下面几种意见,谈谈你的看法和理由:
(1)分4层:“孝公既没……要害之郡”是第1层,“诸侯恐惧……已困矣”是第2层,“于是从散……弱国入朝”是第3层,其余是第4层。
(2)分2层:“孝公既没……弱国入朝”是第1层,其余是第2层。
(3)“弱国入朝”前是一段,可分三层,分法如第一种意见前3层的划分;“延及……国家无事”应单列一段。
提示:把孝公之后五位国君放在同一段中是有道理的,这只要联系上下文就可明白:第1自然段写秦孝公,这是秦攻夺天下的开端。第2自然段中的五位国君有共同的特点--“蒙故业,因遗策”,继续执行孝公攻夺天下的既定国策,虽然孝文、庄襄因“享国之日浅”,无所建树,但不等于放弃攻天下的“遗策”。总的说来,五位国君是在发展吞并天下的业绩。第3自然段写秦始皇,是秦攻夺天下雄心的实现,即标志“攻”的阶段的结束,下面转入“守”天下的阶段。所以第三种意见似不可取。第二种意见基本合理。作者按时间先后和建树状况把五位国君分为两类来写:前者评写,后者略写,但不管评略,二者的关系是并列的。为了学习方便,我们可以对第一层再分3个小层(分法如第一种意见前3层的划分)。第一种分法实际上是把第一层的3个小层与第二大层并列,这在逻辑上是有毛病的。
(说明:若有学生问,作者为什么把前三位国君合写而不-一独段分写?亦可参看上面分析,从中找出答案。)
4 提问:在第2自然段第1大层中,3个小层是否都是写秦的?有人说,第1小层写秦攻各国,第2小层写各国攻秦,第3小层写双方战争结果。这种说法对不对?结合课文加以说明。
明确:还可以有一种理解,3个小层都是写秦的。第1小层,写秦对诸侯各个击破的“攻”。“南取”“西举”“东割”“北收”,既说明了这点,又说明这种进“攻”所向披靡,任何一个诸侯都难于单独与之抗衡,从而也说明了诸侯之所以“会盟而谋弱秦”的原因。第2小层,还是写秦攻诸侯,“攻”取合起来的九国诸侯。九国之师的“叩关攻秦”不过是以攻为守,其实质还是守。面对九国联军的“攻”,秦不再是孝公时的“君臣固守”,而是“开关延敌”,以“攻”对“攻”。第3小层写秦击溃九国之师后的影响,说明其席卷天下之势已完全形成。若非孝文、庄襄“享国之日浅”,那么一统天下的宏图就可能在始皇之前得以实现。

1.下面是第2自然段第一句的译文,其中有些地方译得不正确,请指出来,并说说理由。
译文:秦孝公死后,他的儿子惠文王,孙子秦武王和昭襄王承接了已有的基业,沿袭前代的政策,在南边夺取了汉中,在西边攻取了巴、蜀,在东边割占了肥沃的土地,在北边收复了在政治、经济、军事上都非常重要的城邑。
明确:好的译文标准是“信”“达”“雅”,即准确、通畅、优美生动。上面译文在这三方面都有欠缺。其一,个别语词不准确:“蒙故业”的“故”,泽为“原有(的)”为好;“因遗策”的“策”,指的是策略;“南”“西”“东”“北”译成“在南边”之类不能准确表现秦的扩张行径,译成“向南”“向西”等为好;“收”不是“收复”,和“取”同义。其二,不“达”、不“雅”:对于专名,直接“搬”过即可,不必把注释当译文抄在译文中。译文对“惠文、武、昭襄”及“要害之郡”的处理就有这方面的不足,结果使句子疙疙瘩瘩,甚至造成歧义。
