(二)误用褒义词
例3 他最近出版了一本文不加点、几乎没有注释的旧体诗集子,这样的书,读起来确实累人。(2004年高考北京卷第4题C项)
“文不加点”形容写文章很快,不用涂改就能写成,是一个褒义词。而句中用来强调书的晦涩难懂,当然用错了。
2002年全国高考题用“雨后春笋”来修饰“大量的垃圾食品厂”等,也属于误用褒义词。
(一)误用贬义词
例2 这位文学老人被誉为“农民诗人”,他最善于在田间地头和锅台灶边捕风捉影,从普通百姓的日常小事中发现劳动之乐、生活之趣和人性之美。

“捕风捉影”这个成语比喻说话办事没有丝毫根据。用于一位被誉为“农民诗人”的老人观察、发现劳动之乐、生活之趣和人性之美,当然是褒贬不分了。
像这类误用贬义词的情况还有,1995年高考题用“无所不为”修饰“科学家”,用“半斤八两”修饰两种剪纸风格,1997年高考题用“趋之若鹜”来修饰“艺术爱好者”,1998年高考题用“处心积虑”来修饰“新上任的厂领导”,2004年高考广东题用“弹冠相庆”来形容举国对女排夺冠的庆祝等。
例1 他谦虚地说:“我既不擅长唱歌,也不喜欢运动;除了画画,就别无长物了。” (2004年高考浙江卷第4题B项)
“别无长物”意为“没有多余的东西,形容贫困或俭朴”,这个词专指生活困窘。使用者没有注意到句子的语境,见有一个“长”字,望文生义,误以为表示“长处”或“特长”。
成语的意义具有整体性的特点,其义往往不是它的语素义的简单相加,因此切不可以今律古,望文生义。像这类词义与语境不相符的情况,在近年高考题中还有1993年的“差强人意”,1995年的“首当其冲”,1997年的“万人空巷”,1998年的“火中取栗”等。
