My husband and I have just come back from a fantastic trip to Kenya. We visited the Masai Mara. It was a short flight from Nairobi, where we stayed at Mara Bushtops, an excellent camp located just outside the national reserve. The guides were brilliant and we especially enjoyed the walking journey.

I have traveled to Kenya several times and have found a jewel in Hemingway’s Resort in Watamu (near Malinde) on the coast. It is located close to Tsavo National Park and other areas and offers excellent journey opportunities. If you like fishing as I do, then Hemingway’s Resort will provide you with excellent access to the boats.

I am a USA resident and I visited Kneya in June last year. It was interesting and attractive. It was the time for the yearly migration of wildebeest (an animal like a beer) from Serengeti to Masai Mara. The tour guide was very friendly. Indeed he gave me a lecture on wildlife. I stayed at a Keekorok lodge(小舍). If you are planning to go to Kenya, just contact these journey planners and you will never regret it. I hope I can go there for a second time.

I am Kenyan. Although I have been living in Amsterdam for a few years now, I have my own special places and things I always go back to see. I have been around the world and I think the lodges at Kiwayu are just he best lodging experience. What I don’t like is that African countries are settling into western comforts. In my mind Africa should be wild and rough. But that’s changing; the lodges in Kiwayu now offer comfort only to be found in the high streets of Manhattan. But this is taking away the spirit of adventure that makes Africa so attractive.
