[参考范文]

Recently more than 260,000 netizens have participated in the survey about whether the curriculum of senior high school should be divided into arts and science.

About 46% of the netizens are in favor of the idea that the curriculum should be divided into arts and science. Otherwise, students may have too much to learn, which increases their burden greatly. However, about 54% of the netizens think that it is unwise to get arts and science separated. They believe that it is not good for students’ full development and that they may have a narrow knowledge.

In my opinion, the problem does not lie in whether the curriculum should be divided or not. Actually, some students spend their time and energy mostly on either arts or science, which may have a bad effect on their future. So I would like to suggest that the college entrance examination should be reformed.

Failure is the mother of success

We middle school students have had many tests or exams. We have both achieved success and suffered from failure. Different students take different attitudes to failure. Some fall in low spirits when they don’t do well in the exams. They usually lose heart and no longer study as before. But most students take an active attitude towards failure. They encourage themselves to be self-confident. They found out and analyze the causes so that they will no longer make similar mistakes. I agree with those with active attitudes. As we all know, failure is the mother of success. Even great men have failed many times before they succeeded. So we must deal with our failure correctly.

We had a heated discussion recently about whether people should do extreme sports

[参考范文]

We had a heated discussion recently about whether people should do extreme sports. Some of my classmates didn’t like the idea of doing extreme sports. They thought people who did them were crazy. They regarded extreme sports as something that wasted time, money and energy, as well as something dangerous. These students argued that students should not try to seek excitement in such sports.

Others held the opinion that people should give them a try. Firstly, people could learn a lot from them, and it was always good to get new experiences. Secondly, doing exercise was good for people’s health. Thirdly, extreme sports could test people’s courage.

As far as I am concerned, people can take a kind of challenge in doing extreme sports. Anyway, people can have a try at extreme sports to enrich their life.

Tiananmen is located in the center of Beijing. It was first built in 1417 and named Chengtianmen. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, it was seriously damaged by war. When it was rebuilt under the Qing in 1651, it was renamed Tiananmen. It served as the main entrance to the Imperial City and was meant for important occasions.

On October 1, 1949, Chairman Mao Zedong proclaimed on Tiananmen Rostrum the founding of the People's Republic of China. Since then, Tiananmen has been the symbol of New China. Chairman Mao's portrait is hung above the central entrance. The Rostrum on its top was open to the public in 1988 for the first time in its history. It offers a panoramic view of the Square and the city proper. Today, the splendor of Tian'anmen attracts millions of visitors from all over the world.

With economic development and population growth, the city size grows larger and larger, which brings about both benefits and disadvantages. As a result of the city expansion, local people are enjoying the convenience of commercial business and their residential conditions have also improved. More financial investment will pour into the area as well.

On the other hand, some destruction of farmland is unavoidable when a city expands. Besides forms of pollution done to the land, wildlife, including both plants and animals, is put at risk.

All these ought to be considered. In my opinion, tearing down unusable buildings can spare many areas inside the city, so it’s unnecessary to expand outside. As for the government, careful planning should be done to maintain the natural beauty while at the same time allowing for growth.

The global financial crisis of 2008 has contributed to a more fierce competition in job markets. Increasing numbers of college graduates are finding themselves in a situation where too many jobseekers are fighting for survival. Our class has had a heated discussion on this problem. Students have different ideas.

70% of them think it makes sense that they realize an early employment by lowering their income expectations, thus reducing the burden on their families. They also believe there’re better opportunities for development if they go to work in the west or rural areas. 20% of them consider full employment an unrealistic goal, so they choose to continue their further study or go to vocational schools to learn some practical skills to make better preparations for future careers. Finally, the rest 10% determine to set up their own businesses.

As for me, I think after a series of timely measures taken by the government, we are confident and capable of overcoming the current difficulties and challenges and the employment prospects for graduates will be better soon. So all we need to do now is plan and act in ways that reflect the reality, to assure that we make full use of our talent and skills.
