案例一：争，是陶渊明“采菊东篱下，悠然见南山”的坦然；争，是陆游“无意苦争春，一任群芳妒”的无奈；争，更是岳飞“莫等闲，白了少年头，空悲切”的感叹；争，也是李白“安能摧眉折腰事权贵，使我不得开心颜”的豪情……

案例二：有人说，争是一种姿态，它代表了一种积极进取的精神；有人说，争是一种性格，它代表了一种永不服输的斗志；有人说，争是一种思想，它代表一种居安思危的智慧。然而，我却不想为“争”唱赞歌，因为，“争”是生命不能承受之重。

表面看来，概念解说式开头法和概念描述式开头法大同小异，其实，二者间的差别还是比较大的。这种差别主要体现为：

概念描述式开头，在摆出概念后，是用具体画面来体现概念内容，其表达方式以描写为主，写作重点在于营造画面。例如，读“争，是小草破岩而出的那一搏”这一句，身为读者的我们，大脑中便会出现一幅动态的小草破岩而出的图画。

而概念解说式开头，在摆出概念后，则是通过引用名家名言阐释概念内容，其表达方式以说明为主，写作重点在于举例解释。例如，读“争，是陶渊明‘采菊东篱下，悠然见南山’的坦然”这一句，身为读者的我们，大脑中想到的不是陶渊明如何采菊如何见南山，而是陶渊明的这种生活态度也可以看成一种“争”。也就是说，引用陶渊明及其诗句，只是为了举例解释“争”这个概念。

当然，这里的解说，并非科学说明，所以没必要给核心概念一个精确的定义。解说的目的，只在于引出核心观点。从这点看，又和概念描述式相同了，概念解说后，通常也需要用一个总结性句子来引出全文主要观点。

案例：争，是小草破岩而出的那一搏；争，是雏莺离巢学飞的那一瞬；争，是狂风暴雨下航船的激流勇进；争，是莘莘学子在狭窄独木桥上的争先恐后；……我们需要争。

概念描述，特点是针对作文命题中的关键词，采用类似博喻的手法，从几个不同角度落笔，通过形象化的文字，实现由抽象概念到形象画面的转换。这种转换的目的，一是变抽象为具体，通过具体可感的事例，使原本抽象的概念转化成生活中随处可见的具体景象。二是将原本笼统的概念，通过多角度的描述而生成出多元解读视角，为后面文字的多视角展开服务。

概念描述式的开头，在结构上总是体现为先分后总式。一般情况下，总是如案例呈现的这样，先用三或四个句子，从不同方面形象化描述概念。最后，再用一个总结性短句，对前面的描述进行总括。需要特别注意的是，前面的描述固然很生动很形象，但它们的价值，其实仅仅是为了引出这最后的总结性短句。这总结性短句，才是真正想要突出的写作重点。这个句子，通常就是全文的中心论点。
